The first meeting of the conference was about  to start. People car rentals anchorage were milling around in the lobby/bookstore area. I chose to sit in a comfy chair near the unlit fireplace to enjoy a moment of stillness and quiet before the worship and teaching began.
A lady sat down with me. Her vivacious personality captured me immediately in conversation. She told me the story of her recent trip to the Smokies with her husband. She had been so excited that after all their trips around Cades Cove they had finally seen a bear. As they neared the end of the 11-mile loop, she prayed, asking God if He would let her see a bear, and if it wasn t too much to ask, a cub, too.
The sparkle in her eyes when she told me that God loves us enough to care about the simple requests was like a new diamond car rentals anchorage ring. God placed a mama bear and a cub in the creek and allowed His child and her husband to see them and take pictures.
Words can t describe the fire in her eyes when she shared about her heart s passion: car rentals anchorage single moms. She lived as a single car rentals anchorage mom for several years, not marrying until her children were in high school. She knows the struggles and hurts and longs to help other single moms learn how Jesus can make a difference to those struggles and hurts. She and her husband host a weekly Bible study at their home but it s more than that. Part of their time together is the preparation of dinner when she uses her former Pampered Chef training to teach the women how to prepare meals.
We walked into the Grand Hall and sat together at a table, ready to hear Babbie Mason sing and Carol Kent share from her heart and the scripture. We were still sharing stories in those few moments when this lady I d just met interrupted me and asked, Are you in an online Bible Study? Her excitement was palpable when I told her that I was.
Several other women looked car rentals anchorage around when Sue Syverson squealed in excitement, quickly explaining that she isn t a stalker (as if I would have one!) but a recipient of MB s passion for discipleship at their church. We quickly found out that she and I were staying at the same hotel. She even offered to drive me back after I d shared my story about the shuttle (that s another one.)
Within moments we knew this set-up car rentals anchorage was all God. Our personalities click together so well. Our hearts are so close. Her journey car rentals anchorage and mine are different, but have led us both to the cross of Christ, begging for forgiveness and receiving it. We both long to see women understand just how much they matter to God. It was like meeting up with a friend after a long time apart.
This was Sue s first trip to a conference alone. She s usually with a group. She felt a little lost, being alone, but trusted car rentals anchorage that God would handle it and came expecting. This was my first trip to a conference when I didn t rent a car. I was dependent  upon the hotel shuttle for transportation. We were both a little discombobulated, yet trusting that somehow everything car rentals anchorage would work out.
Our rooms were next to each other. Sue had driven her car. God put us together, graciously, beautifully, wonderfully providing for both of our heart-needs. I now have a new friend who exudes confidence and joy. Sue has a new friend car rentals anchorage who . well, Sue has a new friend.
