House has all your linens, kitchen tools, cable, high speed internet and telephone land line. Fabulous references and very reasonable weekly rates. Walk 300 yards to ocean inlet, 1/2 mile to Nature Conservancy Trails. Fish 400 yards off the rocks. Clam in same area with an inexpensive $5 town license. Beaches are close by. The house was designed for comfort, love and light on a beautiful island. No Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks or Wallmart. Kayaks and bikes for rent close by and they will be delivered to the Cottage. Life is pure natural beauty glorious!

Deer Isle is the jewel of DownEast Maine, located at the end of the Blue Hill penninsula. The island is Kayaking and hiking heaven. Kayaks go in the water 1/4 mile away from our house as well as all over the island, you have access with parking. Kayaks are rented on the island. National Heritage Trust hiking trails 1/4 mile away. Artists paint outdoors. Birders flock to the island. We have a gorgeous sandy beach near by with COLD Maine water where one can see tall ship schooners pass by on their way to Stonington or Winter Harbor or a lovely pond with much warmer water. Haystack Mountain School of Crafts is 3 miles from our home for world class free slide shows of world class artisans. Acadia orleans hotel and casino National orleans hotel and casino Park is spectacular and words cannot cover its majestic landscale45 min. easy ride. Warm water for swimming available at the local pond. No charge for parking on the island for beaches, ponds, etc. NO FEES.
You will drive over a beautiful 1920's green bridge which takes you across a Penobscot inlet. The bridge was installed to allow Deer Isle granite to be trucked off island to Boston and NYC. The JFK Eternal Flame Memorial monument is made of the beautiful pink granite found on the shores of Deer Isle. Jackie came to Deer Isle and picked it out!
Deer Isle is home of Stonington Harbor, the largest lobstering port on the U.S. east coast. Also, Deer Isle is the home of visiting writers and a few who stayed orleans hotel and casino and called it home. The island orleans hotel and casino is the year round and/or seasonal home of many well known Visual Artists. Buses arrive in the Fall from NYC filled with gallery owners to place orders for NYC specialty stores. The Haystack Mountain orleans hotel and casino School attracts professional artists, teachers and students: glassblowers, sculptors, fiber artists, photographers, wood artists, and ceramic potters and sculptors from around the world. If you are looking for malls, you won't find them on Deer Isle. You can drive to Ellsworth or Bangor, orleans hotel and casino however and enjoy that experience as well.
Kayaking, hiking, biking, resting, , nature photoraphy, oil and watercolor painting reading and playing your favorite instrument brings folks to Deer Isle. Oh yes, eating fresh caught lobster and seafood is amazing at the family owned local restaurants . The landscape is similar to that of Acadia National Park which is located a 45 minute ride away. Isle AuHaut, also part of Acadia is wonderful to hike, bike and kayak, located a mail boat ride away departing from Stonington Harbor. We can take the mail boat to Isle AuHaut in the morning, stay all day or camp out over night, and get picked up by the mail boat the next day. Bikes can be rented on the island orleans hotel and casino or you can bring them with you on the mail boat.
Restaurants (bares repeating) are great...most with water views. There are two markets on the island, a great wine store, as well as fish, lobster and clam outlets. The Opera House is the local venue for great movies, orleans hotel and casino live theatre and world-class jazz.
Bangor is home of an International Airport. We are 1 hour from the airport. Car rental is available at the airort. Bangor is home to a very popular casino, rather new to the area. Our local celeb is Stephen King who lives in Bangor and owns the local radio station.
Other Fees: Cleaning fee: The house will be cleaned weekly for $125 per week Security Deposit Requird to cover breakage or cleaning requirements: $200. Security returned within 7 days of final day in house. We've never had a damage problem!!!!!

Dear Diane and Bill, My husband was finally introduced to your home nestled in the woods...beautiful scenic Deer Isle. We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks and the close friends that stayed with us. The Castine Home and Garden Tour was delightful as well as the Flash in Pans Concert orleans hotel and casino at the Town Dock in Castine. We climbed Blue Hill (Blueberries for Sal), Gorham Mountain in Acadia and several of the islands Heritage Trust trails. We took the Isle AuHaut site seeing orleans hotel and casino trip today at 2 p.m. - lots of seals and even a BALD EAGLE! We explored Acadia Penninsula the first week and enjoyed visiting art galleries we missed orleans hotel and casino last year....The orleans hotel and casino Blue Heron gallery and the Turtle Gallery. We had wonderful lunches at Fisherman's Friend and the Seasons at Stonington Restaurants; The Cockatoo Portuguese Restaurant in Sunset, ME on the island. Our favorite dinners orleans hotel and casino out were Whales rib Tavern at the historic Deer Isle Pilgrim Inn and Lily's Cafe and Wine Bar in Stonington. Susie Q's Sweets in Stonington has great homemade pies for all the meals we ate in! Do no miss The Inn on the Ha4rbor Ice Cream Lady blueberry ice cream or the expresso coffee chip!!!!!!! The Harbor Cafe in Stonington has wonderful breakfasts and is open early for the local lobstermen. My favorite Harbor walk is Indian Point Road (last left as you enter Stonington Main Street) which leads to Ames Poind.
