On August 15 th , 2012, Phoenix Houses of Los Angeles, Inc. celebrated the Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony of the Renaissance Short-Stay Program at Phoenix House Academy mexico maps travel .  The Renaissance Short-Stay program offers a new approach to substance abuse treatment for adolescents who lack the motivation and/or social support mexico maps travel system to remain abstinent from drugs, but do not require full hospitalization.  With individually tailored treatment plans of 7-30 days, the Renaissance Short-Stay program focuses on helping mexico maps travel young people move from lives of continual crisis towards problem solving and conflict resolution.

The Grand opening hosted several prominent attendees, including Mr. Angel F. Barnuevo, Jr., Field Deputy for Senator Alex Padilla, who presented mexico maps travel a Certificate mexico maps travel of Recognition on behalf of the State of California Senate for the innovative Renaissance Short-Stay Program.   Also in attendance were the Presidents, Directors and Executive Directors from many interested and well-respected organizations in the field, including Prototypes; Hollywood Vine Recovery Center; Dixon Recovery Institute, Inc.; The National Association of Social Workers; The Crescenta Valley Drug and Alcohol Prevention Coalition (CVDAPC); Soledad Enrichment mexico maps travel Action School Support Services; the Hospital Association of Southern California; and United American Indian Involvement.  Respected representatives from East Los Angeles College, Glendale City College, and the Glendale Unified School District were also in attendance, as well as Mr. Jerry Ngo and Debra A. Gaudy on behalf of the California Department of Rehabilitation .
The event opened with remarks by Pouria Abbassi, P.E. Senior Vice President and Regional Director for Phoenix Houses of California .  "This new program mexico maps travel reaffirms Phoenix House's continuous dedication to treating substance abuse among young people—one of the most vulnerable populations in our community," said Mr. Abbassi. "With these added services, Phoenix House will proudly continue mexico maps travel our commitment to second chances, helping our teen clients overcome addictions and start fresh in recovery."
His remarks were followed by the Grand Opening Key Note Speaker, Dr. Barry Solof , M.D., Regional Chief of Addiction Medicine for Kaiser Permanente and Associate Professor of Psychology at Los Angeles City College.  Dr. Barry Solof, M.D, FASAM, is a graduate of Yale Medical School and has been practicing addiction medicine for 35 years.  He is also the author of The Therapist's Guide to Addiction Medicine (2012) .  Speaking about the impact of addiction on our local youth, Dr. Solof sparked a lively conversation which moved to a Q A with the Phoenix House Clinical Team, led by Elizabeth A. Stanley-Salazar, M.P.H., Vice President and Director of Clinical Services for Phoenix Houses of California.  Following the Q A, the event concluded with the highly-anticipated ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Renaissance Short-Stay Program Tours.
Established in 1994, the Phoenix House Academy of Los Angeles offers a gender-specific mexico maps travel treatment continuum for teens with substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health issues. Their professional full-time staff includes a Board-certified psychiatrist and licensed mental health professionals. The Academy is fully accredited by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs and by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
