I have travelled quite a lot. I have lived in Australia, Israel, Preston and York. Yet I crave to be

I came home 8 months later and quickly moved to nearby York, visiting that often, I was almost always in Scarborough. My family and friends are all in this little town that has the largest personality and in fact is not that small, so now we come to present day.
I am once again living in Scarborough, this town that I often refer to as my 'Hotel California , because you can check out but never leave. The problem I have with this town is that I love living here so much, she has so much to offer, so much to see and now finally it looks as though the council has also seen the beauty and potential this once so very famous town made famous by our spa waters, Scarborough was the 1st spa town.
We have the Grand Hotel, built in 1867, in a V in honour of the Queen Victoria and of local stone from Hunmanby, ocean city new jersey hotels a calendar hotel, 12 floors, 52 chimneys, 365 rooms and each turret representing a season, it was one of the largest ocean city new jersey hotels hotels of its time and I believe the 1st purpous built hotel in Europe, known as the Jewel of the north and of course Simon and Garfunkel's 'Scarborough Fare' which we all know.
Our history is a rich tapestry, we have the Vikings to thank for our name they named us Scarthborg, we have had Romans, ocean city new jersey hotels Normans, anglo-saxons and I believe 3 different castles one made of wood, two others of stone, ocean city new jersey hotels the medieval ruin that stands now, is not a ruin from being weathered but rather from being bombed in the WW2.
We have this stunning ocean city new jersey hotels marina on the north bay and the beauty of south cliff and the Italian gardens and should you want to go for a walk in the woods its only 15 minutes in the car and you're at Forge Valley and Hackness, surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire woods and hills, farms all around and occasionally the odd sheep who may greet you on your way!
I never tire of looking at the horizon in Scarborough where ever you are you see the castle and we have so much more to offer than our competitor towns dotted along the East Coast, we boast a great shopping centre, 3 museums, ocean city new jersey hotels a stunning history, 5 star hotels, great surf, scooter alleys, sea fest, the magnificent outdoor theatre and so much more.
The deal breaker for me with this town are the people, I never noticed because having lived here so long, I assumed the rest of the world was like this but no here in Scarborough, we are the most friendly people. My boyfriend comes from Bradford originally and now lives in York and it was him that made me realise just how brilliantly wonderful the Scarborough people are. Ee say good morning to one and other, we smile and we have manners. In short we're traditional and that is something brilliant, we are a very good example of true modern day working class Britain as it should be.
I have travelled quite a lot. I have lived in Australia, Israel, Preston and York. Yet I crave to be in Scarborough. My town, my love, where my heart is and therefore my home. Scarborough is the one!
I think you might find that Oliver Cromwell contributed towards the ruination of Scarborough Castle, rather than Adolf Hitler? The castle did take hits in WW1, but not as far as I am aware in WW2. You are correct though; this is a beautiful area in which to live.
