We decided to go with Gemini Sailing Charters.  We chose them based upon the concierge’s initial rec

My wife and I recently went on one of these whale watching tours and had a blast.  Although we were not technically best places to travel with small children and young babies in Maui during the whale watching best places to travel with small children and young babies season (runs from November through April), we were able to spot a couple early arrivals and followed them around.
Having taken the tour, I can tell you she was exactly right!  The unique perspective you gain from the sea opened up the entire island of Maui and we were able to snap some fantastic photos!  Let me tell you, if you're looking best places to travel with small children and young babies for romantic things to do in Maui, a whale watching tour should be on that list.
We decided to go with Gemini Sailing Charters.  We chose them based upon the concierge's initial recommendation and reading up on whale watching reviews online.  Everyone seemed best places to travel with small children and young babies to have a positive experience and said they would use them again on their next vacation to Maui.
Ticket prices best places to travel with small children and young babies were about $60 which included drinks and some appetizers.  There is no need to purchase whale watching tickets ahead of your trip.  However, it would be a smart idea to secure the tickets during the first couple days upon arrival.
We boarded the boat right off the beach in Lahaina.  The meeting point was right in front of the Westin Maui.  Getting onto the boat was easy.  It involved timing the waves so that as they were being pushed out, the staff would instruct us onto the boat in pairs of two.  Our hotel ( Hyatt Regency Maui Resort ) was also within walking distance which was a nice perk. In fact, many upscale resorts are situated in Lahaina best places to travel with small children and young babies which is a hub for great tourist activities best places to travel with small children and young babies in Maui.
The types of whales we spotted were humpback whales.  We learned they grow upwards of 50 feet and can weigh over 40 tons.  We had an instructor on board who was very knowledgeable and educated everyone on board about the whale's habits, food source, etc.  He was also pretty funny which was nice to have someone outspoken and not an introverted researcher spitting out dry facts!
In total, the whale watching tour lasted about 2 hours.  We were on the evening tour (between 4-6 pm) so we were done early enough that we were able to still make it back to our hotel, shower/change and make it to dinner around 8:00.
