I'm actually in the middle of two of these scam offers. the names are veronica coelho who says that

There's a new scam going around, which is a slightly more sophisticated variation of a fake escrow trick. Scammers post for sale ads in classified services such as Craigslist or AutoTrader, with a too-good-to-be-true price. Here is one example I found: 2005 Honda Accord . "Email me for more details : brendapharell@ymail.com .The car is in a perfect cosmetic and engine condition s , and meticulously maintained. No damage, no scratches holiday travel trailer or dents, no hidden holiday travel trailer defects, never been into accident s and it is as advertised. Email me for more pictures at : brendapharell@ymail.com . I cannot get in touch with you if you use the "Email this Seller" option because my email address on autotrader is full so please e-mail me directly at: brendapharell@ymail.com" The car is a real car--in the sense that they borrowed holiday travel trailer some photos and a VIN from somewhere, so if you run it through CarFax it will check out as a real vehicle. If you respond, they send you a fake invoice from eBay Motors, along with a fake "Vehicle Purchase Protection" holiday travel trailer service email. Here are examples, cick for larger view: It isn't a perfect fake, but it may be convincing to someone holiday travel trailer who doesn't know much about eBay. The real eBay Motors does not operate an escrow service, and they explicitly don't allow MoneyGram payments ! Also note the fake eBay email address, "ebay@support-center-vpp.net". The scammers want you to send a non-traceable payment (MoneyGram, Western Union) to a "payment agent", who is probably some idiot who signed up for a "work at home" job "processing internet payments". That guy cashes the payment, and forwards it on to the scammers. I tried to make contact with the scammer, but he was being very careful--he wouldn't give me a phone number. He stopped respoding to my emails after I pointed out that eBay doesn't allow Moneygram payments, and asked if he could take a PayPal payment instead. Update: holiday travel trailer I am starting to see reports of this scam spreading out into Canada and the UK, using other services such as Moneybookers. The rules are the same. If the price is too good to be true (way below market) or the guy wants you to buy a car without being able to look at it, it's not real.
Thanks for the information. I just recently ran across two of these scams over the past week on the Auto Trader. People out there need to beware of these scams! Is there any way to report the people trying to pull this off?
AutoTrader.com has multiple ways to contact them if a scam is suspected. ''How to Report Fraud Help us stop fraud. If you receive a suspicious email, let us and law enforcement know right away. Step 1: Forward any suspicious emails to us immediately at fraudwatch@autotrader.com. Don't change the subject line or send it as an attachment-doing so could prevent us from identifying trends and preventing similar scams. To speak directly to a Fraud Watch Customer Service Representative, call 1-877-742-8040 (Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. EST).''
This scam preys on people who are willing to buy a car sight unseen, which can be risky. Before you buy a car, besides getting its vehicle history it s a good idea to take a test drive and have it inspected by a mechanic. Mobile inspection services can do this for you if the car isn t in your area.
They been running the TGTBT scam on eBay for a while now, though I have yet to see the price be the part that's Too Good. I typically see it under Triumphs, MGs and Jags from the 60s and 70s that are described as having "All electrics working!". Right. Total scam.
I am currently in the market for a used car and ran across one of these scams for a 2004 volvo xc90 for something like $4500. The persons email address is hunterfelecia@ymail.com. Funny that the description is exacrtly the same hahaha. I knew it was a scam from the minute the person responded to me. "Hi, The car is located in Dallas(i just moved here with my new job),like i told we will use eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection,so we can both be protected and insured.I am waiting for you to pay them so i can start the shipping process and send the car at your place. As I have this agreement with eBay , I got a discount at shipping holiday travel trailer company holiday travel trailer that eBay works with and I can deliver the car anywhere in US.You will get the car and you will have 5 days of inspection in which you can decide if you keep it or not.If you won`t like my car(not your case)you notify eBay and you send the car back on my cost, after that eBay will send all your money back. The shipping is free i will take care of it and i will send the car with all the papers( vehicle registration, warranty holiday travel trailer papers, transfer papers etc ).Try to check your email(spam or bulk folder also),you should get the invoice soon. Thanks" Thats the response i got after emailing to ask for some more questions! haha! I am currently having some fun with this felicia hunter person. Ill let you know how it turns out.
OM software provides organization to a series of tasks that are interdependent. That series of tasks includes receiving orders, billing, shipping label creation, shipment pickup scheduling, accounting, inventory control and others. These tasks introduce, in the ecommerce holiday travel trailer business, a difficulty factor and a plethora of details that can sink even the most determined entrepreneur. The decision to streamline those tasks is related to the pain threshold of the business owner and to the need to improve the bottom line. That pain threshold is usually about six pieces of shipping each day. Learn more with List Easy
Here's the e-mail I received after seeing a too good to be true ad on Auto Trader and inquiring about it. "Hello, I'm Sgt. David Walcot. This Highlander is in perfect working condition. This vehicle engine runs very very smooth. No electrical problems on this beauty.. This detailed vehicle makes the exterior looks like it just came off the assembly line. The car has 48,300 miles on it. As I know that my current holiday travel trailer situation is pretty special I want the deal closed only through eBays's Buyer Protection Program in order for you to be 100% protected. You will make the payment to ebay and they will hold the money until you receive the car. ONLY AFTER you receive the car and you inspect it(for 15 days) eBay will release the payment to me; in this way we are both protected. I am located in Budapest, Hungary and I was sent here to improve the military relationships between USA and Hungary holiday travel trailer . One month ago, my wife Jannet moved here with me and brought the car with her, but now we have to sell it back in the US because we can't register it here, it has US specs and everything, and registering it here in Europe will take for ever. My price on it is US 6,500 $. If we reach an agreement, I am willing to take care of the shipping to your address. Shipping will take 10 days maximum. I have managed to obtain a low cost shipping, only $600 and I presume it would be fair to split the shipping cost so, we'll pay $300 each. Meaning, that the car and the shipping/handling will cost you $6,800. I think this is reasonable. Please get back to me asap if you decide to buy, and include in your e-mail your full name and address where you want it shipped so I can start the deal with eBay. You will receive all the transaction payment and shipping details from them. Thank you"
Thanks a lot for posting this! I almost got suckered into the same scam. I noticed something was fishy when the scammer sent me the confirmation from ebay that was from "eBay@customer-transactions.com". I decided to do some research when I came upon your blog. Autotrader needs to do something about this....
The threat, named Trojan.Bayrob, is quite advanced and tries to implement a man in the middle style attack. While we have previously seen Infostealers that try to steal your username and password, a threat attempting a man in the middle attack on eBay is very unusual.Man in the middle attacks are very powerful, but are also difficult to code correctly. holiday travel trailer Trojan.Bayrob takes the approach of implementing a local proxy server and directing traffic bound for eBay through this local proxy server -------------------------- jacksen Internet marketing
Wow! This all sounds oh so familiar, we actually were scammed out of $8,500.00 and it was by a girl named Nichole Burk who actually lives in Ohio. She portrayed herself as a soldier home from Iraq named Reid Hudson who was to be from Ca. We purchased a white vw jetta tdi, and NEVER received it. She is currently in prison and we are about to start the court hearings. I just was wondering if she was related holiday travel trailer to any other cases?
I'm actually in the middle of two of these scam offers. the names are veronica coelho who says that is in Portugal and, Kathy White which is currently unavailable for a driving test (Washington). Both coincide in saying that were injured in an accident. And, that eBay Shipping.com have the car ready to ship. Also that shipping cost are free. Both and many other cars are listed in the New York Times classified. Authorities must put these people in jail quick.
Almost got scammed today, had the 4500 IN hand for an 2004 blue audi S4 with 63500 the deal seemed to be sweet, she sent me all the fake ebay confirmations and even the shipping company! it just seemed to be too good to be true, As soon as i brought up the "moneygram" to a friend he knew it was a scam, I sware this person had me going, was actually kinda sad i wasnt getting an S4 for 4500 but hey its better then loosing 4500 to some crackhead, they called from Upland holiday travel trailer ca, told me the car was in Montana, the lady could barly speak english, told me that she was goin though divorce holiday travel trailer ya right. It truly all looked legit, even a Bill of sale!!! They should put these tools in jail.
the car will be shipped with DAS auto shippers(recommended by eBay). it will be trucked forward to your place, holiday travel trailer you will not have to pick it up from a terminal/port. from the moment the payment is secured holiday travel trailer by eBay the shipping process will begin and it will arrive at your address in abo
