I did get to visit with family while in town.  Marie and I finally got to see the Planet of the Apes

My sister Marie was kind enough to accompany me to my 45th High School Reunion.   She graduated a couple of years ahead of me and knows most of my friends.    Eastern High School s Class of 66 held the reunion at the Radisson at Cross Keys.   The hotel is formerly known as the Cross Keys Inn.  It is a nice enough venue; however, an evening reunion for an all girls school is definitely not the way to go.  Apparently the Committee Chairwoman insisted on the evening event even after being voted down by the rest of the committee.   I mean really, using the prom s theme of Candlelight and  Roses for an all girl reunion?   There were a very small number of husbands in attendance.   I am sure they enjoyed themselves.  NOT.   One of my strong suggestions for the 50th reunion is to have a luncheon affair.  Most of us will have cataracts northwest airline ticketprices and schedules by then and probably shouldn t be driving at night.
Most disappointing for me was that my old friend Debbie Sutton was not there.  I have not seen Debbie since before 911.  She has been reluctant to fly since then so I was excited when I heard that she was coming.  Unfortunately family issues kept her from joining us.  I did get to visit with old sorority buddies Debbie Ridgely and Kathy Cosgrove and neighborhood pal Sheila Dunn.  It is amazing that Sheila and her brother Rocky never seem to change.  It is like the  family version of  The Picture of Dorian Gray .  The Dunns just don t age.  Incredible.  The rest of us are showing a lot more umm, er ..  character.   Yeah, that s it, character .  Debbie is a personal assistant to a fabulously rich gentleman.  She does everything for him and his family.  In fact she is currently planning a rehearsal dinner in Boston for one of the children.  Sounds like an interesting job.  Kathy works for BG E, okay, maybe not as exciting as Debbie s job, but it keeps her busy and out of trouble.   It was really good to see Debbie and Kathy.  I hope to see them again before the 50th reunion.  God knows, by then, I might not remember them .
The strange thing was ladies kept coming up to me saying how glad they were to see me and how they were hoping I would be on hand for this reunion.  And honestly, northwest airline ticketprices and schedules I had no clue wh o they were!   I certainly don t remember being especially northwest airline ticketprices and schedules popular back in the day.   Maybe I was?   I did chat a bit with Paula Podolsky and Eileen Nuth, although they chose not sit with us this time.   Debbie and Kathy and I talked about some of our friends that we have been unable to find or convince to come to the reunions.   There were less than 100 this time, out of a class of more than 800.  And we don t think they are all dead either .just disinterested.
I did get to visit with family while in town.  Marie and I finally got to see the Planet of the Apes movie.   We were supposed to go the last time I visited, but the impending northwest airline ticketprices and schedules hurricane chased me out of town early.   I was able  to watch Marie and Gail s grandchildren play travel soccer.  May is so cute and fast .  She is one of the smallest girls on the team.  But she is soooo cool.  Gail s grandson Brendan was the star of his game.   He made several great saves in goal.   On Sunday, we went to the Parkside Marina restaurant in Bowleys Quarters, where my brother Brian is a chef.  Marie, my brother Kevin and his wife Allison and I had breakfast on the water.  It was a lot of fun.  Kevin is still one of the funniest people I have ever known.  We had a great visit.  A trip home is never a trip wasted.
You haven t lost your touch what a great story. You missed your calling you really should have gone into journalism and then written a book. Your stories are unique. I plan to print this and sell it at the next reunion.
