51 Buckingham Gate rarely features on the lists of London s best luxurious hotels, and after spending a night there, exotic travel destinations I am at a loss as to exactly why this is the case. My only guess is guests both past and present, upon discovering this well-kept secret in a secluded courtyard garden within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, exotic travel destinations Westminster Abbey, and the Big Ben, simply decide not to share their findings with others for fear of having to share their favourite home.

One of the advantages of reviewing a hotel in your own city is you arrive at the establishment rested and without feeling the pressure to leave the hotel as quickly as possible to explore. So even though check-in takes a tad longer than I am used to, the fact that I don t have to rush back out into the city to make the most out of a limited time schedule has a calming effect on me. Strictly speaking, there are no rooms at 51 Buckingham exotic travel destinations Gate, only suites and residences. Mine, a deluxe junior suite, feels like the home I just left an hour ago. As if that s not enough, a Whole Foods hamper whose contents include eggs, cereals, cookies, chocolate, bread and other necessities arrives just as I am getting ready to sink into a plush couch in the living exotic travel destinations room area. The Jaguar Suite : 51 Buckingham Gate recently unveiled the world s first Jaguar suite, which is a 1,832 square foot, two-bedroom abode whose entire interior decor is a nod to classic exotic travel destinations and contemporary jaguar models. It was designed by Jaguar design director Ian Callum, and its  jaguar-damask lined walls, jaguar wall-paper, jaguar wave motifs and leather panelling, are what I would imagine would be jaguar-lover s dream. Food and Beverages : 51 Buckingham gate hosts three restaurants and two bars, of which the South-Indian restaurant Quilon is one. I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, which is the only Michelin starred restaurant in the world for south west coastal Indian cuisine. Here, fresh, organic ingredients are prepared entirely without butter and cream, relying instead on spices (Quilon is the biggest importer of south Indian spices in the UK) and influences from the Indian states of Kerala, Goa and Karnataka  to create subtle yet arresting flavours.  A dyed-in-the-wool coriander lover, the restaurant s mixed Sea food in Coriander broth had me aaahing and oohing exotic travel destinations with every spoonful. The lemon rice, however, was way too zingy for my liking.
Other amenities : The Spa at 51 Buckingham which offers personalised spa treatments, Luxury Travel Beat s favourite the Library at 51 where complimentary drinks are served between 6:30 and 8:30pm and a courtyard garden (which truly comes into its own in the hot summer months) to rival that of any Parisian luxury hotel.
