Everyone knows of my review of where we stayed from my posts in the Lodging forum, so I won't go into that here. Besides the issues at the hotel, our time in Branson was wonderful!! I also posted about the shows we saw. Here is where we ate:
Andy's Frozen Custard - if you like frozen custard, you won't be disappointed. We got a Go Card from the Tracks and that gave us a free Sunday from Andy's. It was HUGE! We also got a basic vanilla cone. It's all good.
McFarlands - We ate supper there. It took awhile to get waited on, but once we ordered, our food came very fast. This was the first time I had the cornbread. It is so good!! My kids had the spaghetti off the kid's menu, my husband had the hot beef sandwich, and I had the chef salad. It was all good... no complaints.
Grand Country Buffet - We had breakfast there one morning. texas golf vacation packages It was really good, but they seemed to be out of items often. What we were able to get was good though and we found plenty to eat. This was the first time I had an omelet made... very good!
Hardluck Diner - My favorite meal of our trip. The atmosphere of this place is worth going to, but the food is great as well. My husband had their club sandwich, I had the hawaiian chicken breast sandwich, and my kids had the mac and cheese. No complaints. I also had a cherry diet coke... texas golf vacation packages I can never find cherry DIET coke, so it was great. We all really enjoyed our meal there.
Starvin' Marvin's - We tried breakfast there one morning. It was actually pretty good. We all seemed to prefer it over Grand Country. We had inquired about their seafood buffet, but to have the crab legs it was $30... so we didn't consider that as a supper option. They are doing a lot of construction work around and on the building. It's nothing fancy, but the breakfast was good.
Pizza World - a free buffet was included from the Go Card, so we tried it. It was just ok... nothing special. Probably wouln't eat there again unless we had a free buffet coming. It wasn't bad, just no one overly impressed.
Lamberts - we actually ate here on our way down AND again on our way home. Going down, we hit at 10:30 AM (Sunday) and was able to walk right in and be seated. I had the grilled chicken breast, and it was a l ittle dry, but good. My kids had the fish sticks and cheeseburger kids meals. My husband had the chicken fried steak. Coming home, we hit at 2:30 (Thursday) and had to wait about 20 minutes. This time, my kids had the cheeseburger texas golf vacation packages and meatloaf kids meals, my husband had the hot beef sandwich, and I had the chef salad. I have never seen such a HUGE salad in my life. It was good, with a lot thrown in. My kids loved catching rolls and we all left there very full.
Sorry all the places weren't to your liking but glad you enjoyed the food at some of the places. Hopefully on your next trip, you will find some places that you thoroughly enjoy as we have some really good places to eat in Branson.
Show Gal - we didn't have any place that we didn't like. We weren't too excited about Pizza World, but it wasn't bad. Grand Country buffet was just out of a few things when we would go to the bar, but again, it was good and we found plenty to eat. Otherwise, we had great meals!!! Of course, we always love trying new places, but never seems to be enough time to try everything we'd like.
maamaa2001 - Yes, we love the pass arounds. Since I got the salad, I didn't have a plate for them, so I asked for one. lol I love the macaroni and tomatoes! My husband loves the okra and potatoes. He loves how they fry the okra crisp... that's how he likes it.
We also stopped at a little cafe downtown that I forgot to mention. I can't remember the name exactly, but it was Alley something. It was just a couple of doors down from Dick's 5 10. Good prices and a neat little cafe. They had a little garage door opened so it felt really open as we sat there watching the people and enjoying our drinks.
