Last year I wrote a book entitled, Travel Nurse’s Bible (A Guide to Everything on Travel Nursing) ,

I am looking for my first travel vacation home rentals assignment. I am wanting togo to the Phoenix area. I have experience with Meditech EMR system, but the recruiters are saying I will have trouble getting a position without knowing Cerner. Any advice on how I can get experience with this software?
I am currently working in the Phoenix area and the hospital I am at does use Cerner, as well as most of the Banner facilities in the valley. However, we have had new travelers come in since they implimented Cerner and I believe the travelers vacation home rentals are just put through the training like any other new hire (but possibly on an abbreviated basis). I was here when they started using it and it s not that different from any other computerized charting program.
If you email me directly vacation home rentals at david@travelnursesbible.com  and give me some contact info, I can make a few calls and see if I can have someone vacation home rentals from Banner call you. Otherwise, I m not certain how you would gain access to this software other than working at a facility that uses it. I worked a one-day strike last year and even then they trained us in their computerized charting, so I am a bit confused that the recruiters are asking for that experience vacation home rentals up front.
I don t know if you are wanting Phoenix only, but right now we are experiencing the summer slow-down with all the snowbirds leaving, so the census, valley wide, has taken a hit. You might also consider Tucson or Flagstaff (may give you more opportunities to consider).
Hello everyone. I'm a travel nurse originally from Ohio who graduated in 1993 from Mount Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus. I completed a critical care fellowship at Riverside Methodist Hospital vacation home rentals in 1994 and started traveling in that specialty a year later. My first travel assignment was in Maui and since that time I have completed over thirty travel contracts, worked vacation home rentals with several different travel agencies, vacation home rentals and currently hold about a half dozen nursing licenses in different states.
Last year I wrote a book entitled, Travel Nurse's Bible (A Guide to Everything on Travel Nursing) , which can be found at TravelNursesBible.com. vacation home rentals I am currently blogging on this site and writing a monthly column in Healthcare Traveler Magazine.
Having read this, I hopped up from my desk and spoke with the recruiting manager at Onward Healthcare. According to her, not all facilities in Phoenix use the software, and there should be opportunities for those without experience in Cerner. You may want to press them a little harder to look for a position, or contact Banner, OH, or somewhere else that might be able to help you. Just a thought.
