The first time I visited Venice was in late December a few years ago. We were sitting in London having dinner just after Christmas, when I asked the question buccaneer cruising yachts "If you could go anywhere tomorrow buccaneer cruising yachts where would it be..?" Two people said Venice and so the next day we jumped on a plane and went. I hated it..! It was cold, damp, misty, and flooded. It was more like a city made for ducks, than the city made for lovers. We were wrong, as they were already here, and in fact they are now here all year round. Sitting on three fertile acres of Guidecca Island, Hotel Cipriani epitomizes everything that you ve ever dreamed that Venice would be like. Rooms and suites have at last been renovated, and now at least look more in keeping with the price you pay to stay here, but choose carefully or you may be disappointed. In the main building the Junior Suites overlooking the pool are our first choice, and other than that we would suggest that you request one of the 16 rooms and suites in Palazzo buccaneer cruising yachts Vendramin which is linked to the hotel through a flower filled courtyard. Here you will find full butler service, and the Dogaressa Suite , which we think is the best accommodation in the city. If you weren t surrounded by enough water already, the Olympic-sized pool is the place to be seen all day, at least in summer, and at night enjoy drinks and dinner at Cip s Club , but book ahead as it s popular with locals, too.
